Santa Drive Success Stories
Santa Drive
Our Santa Drive Enterprise
This term all of us in The Upper Stages Class did an enterprise project. It all started one day in November when Mrs Mackie told us that we could do an enterprise, Mrs Stevenson came to our classroom and explained that we could help her by raising money for school trips.
then we decided that we would sell cakes, cookies, cards and calendars at The Santa Drive. I thought the Santa Drive was really good fun, my arms got tired when I was ringing the bell.

The Santa Drive
The Santa Drive was great! Everyone was having fun and everyone in our class had a fun job to do! Even although some people didn't win anything they still had a great time. Our business was a great success.
Leon
The Santa Drive was great fun! I think it could have been better, maybe more tables and chairs - perhaps more people who wanted to come in could have got a seat. It was very noisy and we couldn't speak to the parents about our business.
When the parents spoke to us it was great fun. The parents liked our night and I enjoyed speaking to Alice, Katherine's mum.
Grant.
My thoughts on The Santa Drive
I really liked The Saanta Drive, the raffles were great! I would like to come next year when I'll be in my first year at Ellon Academy!
there's one thing we should work on for next year is to bew a bit more environmentally friendly. Recycle our Santa Drive sheets and raffle tickets

The Santa Drive
The Santa Drive was great.
My partner was Morgan.
The biscuits were delicious.
We bought some decorations and two children’s calendars, we even bought a table decoration. The raffle and hamper were fantastic. When all the prizes were going out my partner Morgan won something. After that we went home.
I can’t wait until next year.

My thoughts about the SANTA DRIVE!
Well I was nervous when I had to sell the adult raffle tickets but then it got better infact it absolutely loved it. Most of all I loved the Santa drive itself, it was… great, amusing, happy, astonishing and most of all… FUN! And… TERRIFIC!

Santa Drive
I thought it was great fun. It was a definite success with the selling of all our products. A lot was sold but there was some stock still left. We will find something to do with all that stuff. (There was some shortbread crumbs left on the floor, people should have been a little more tidy).
Claire Mitchel and Mrs Stout and Becca Gauld were all special people who came. They all helped us during our enterprise project.
The enterprise groups made a lot of money from selling all the cakes and shortbread, decorations, cards and calendars.
Now we have enough money for transport and school trips.
We all feel very happy and Mrs Mackie is very proud of us all!
Santa Drive
I thought that the Santa Drive went really well, especially the selling part. I thought that the Santa game went really fast! I wish we could do it all over again.
Katherine
Santa Drive
I thought the Santa Drive was great.
It was a bit too noisy so when we were trying to talk to the audience they could not hear us.
The games went past quite quickly.
The products were selling very well our group, The Busy Business raised £165.
We still have some bills to pay.

Santa Drive
I think this was the best Santa drive since I have been at this school (and I’m now in Primary 7)because we were given the responsibility to make the Santa Drive even better than it already was. We made our own enterprise where we had to make cards, cakes, decorations, and calendars.
We could have improved it by having more space where the Santa drive was being played.
Kieran
I liked the food and the raffle but I did not like the game because I’ve been going to Santa Drives for too many years.
I liked making the decorations and then hanging them up.
Jonathan
The Santa Drive
The Santa Drive food was great .I am glad we had food because I was very hungry.
The bell was a little loud but ok really.
The game was hard for some people because they did not know where to go when it was time to move on.
I enjoyed the Santa Drive!
It was one of the best we had.

Santa Drive
I really liked the Santa Drive and I liked the food. The game was really great and it was fun when Mrs Mackie told me to get up on the chair to shout our the raffle prizes.

The Santa Drive was great especially when Becca and Claire came. Claire, the bakery manageress from Tesco’s bakery department in Ellon bought one of The Baker Maker’s cakes she said “Keep the change”.
Miss Stout came to the Santa drive like she said she would and she reserved one of the cakes to buy because she said “That one is the best!”
Miss Stout helped Chloe-bobbie and Shona with the selling of the cakes. We all enjoyed our special time.

Santa Drive
I think the Santa Drive was full of Christmas fun. It was so good that it couldn’t be improved!
I think that selling our products was fun and I’d like to do it again! I think it was a good idea to put healthy food on the tables, I think it promoted healthy food and all the good work that The Healthy Fit Kids Group does!
It was fun greeting people at the door. The Santa Drive game and raffle was so funny!
In conclusion I think the Santa Drive was ace!

Monday 8th December - It's Santa Drive Week!
Only three days to go!!
Today's employee of the day is Euan P! Euan worked very hard to complete a spreadsheet to keep track of all the Santa Drive Ticket Orders. Looks like we are going to very busy on the night.
The Baker Makers all worked hard today, more shortbread and cakes baked.

Diane Nightingale arrvied at school first thing this morning with a wonderful selection of greenery from her garde. Thanks Diane, I've added a couple of photographs into the picture gallery to give you all an idea of how the children tackled today's activities.
We processed orders this afternoon and some of you might have already received your products. (Thank you to Becky's mum Karen, who was a big help in the afternoon)
Tomorrow Becka Gauld from Tarts and Crafts, Balmedie will be spending some time in class as a business advisor/consultant. We are all looking forward to meeting her.

Wednesday 3rd December Countdown! 8 Days to go!
Kieran was an enterprising lad today, he didn't give up when order forms caused problems. He took his task and his responsibilities seriously, he kept on going until the order forms were designed, written and finally printed. You gave up some of your lunch hour to do this.
You deserve to be called Employee of the Day!
Special mention to Shona in Primary 4, Catherine R. in Primary 5, Jonathan in Primary 6, Grant in Primary 7 for quietly working on all business tasks today.
The children who designed the card packaging - big thank you and well done!
You can find some interesting language work in the Business sections. We hope you enjoy reading our writing.
Some children are writing to the parents reminding them that raffle prizes can be dropped into school anytime. Watch out for this and other order forms in your child's zippy in the zippy over the next few days!
(Santa Drive Tickets, Cards, Decorations, Calendars and cakes)
Thanks Gillian for popping into class for the last half hour.
Tuesday the 2nd December
Liam, Leon, Gabi and Becky D were all fantastic shortbread bakers today, Euan P and Ewan B did a tremendous job of another batch of Christmas Cakes. Isabel made some important business decisions on behalf of the C.C.C's as she browsed catalogues for suitable envelopes to put the Christmas Cards in. She also talked about goiong home to ask Dad help her design a financial business sheet to record how much money we spend and how much money we earn.
Well done to all
Mrs Mackie

Monday 1st December 2008
Look at these fantastic shortbread biscuits. Chloe-bobbie you deserve a special mention for working hard at the baking this afternoon, especially as Mrs Mackie didn't get the recipe just right. Never mind got it all sorted and here are the biscuits baked for you coming back to school tomorrow! Grant and Charlie and Leon were all busy with Mrs K. Robertson making cakes in the morning. Big thank you to all.
Danny you were a star, giving up up your lunch hour to work on the Santa Drive Sheet.John, Liam and Kieran you also worked well today.
Karen, Becky's mum helped all day with cards and decorations - she thought you all were giving your best. Euan's mum Jane helped C.C.C.'s to design a new card. Christmas cracker design.
I've also added a photo of the Christmas Cakes for sale on Santa Drive Night. Not quite sure how I managed to get it there.
EMPLOYEE OF THE DAY 28th November 2008
Miss Stout's employee of the day today was Katherine Atkin for her enthusiasm and hard work whilst making decorations! The hearts are looking fab and couldn't of been done without her and the rest of the Dazzling Direct Decorations! Well Done!
EMPLOYEE OF THE DAY 27th November 2008
Today miss Stout's employee of the day is Liam for all his input when we were thinking of captions for the calendar. Liam thought of how to describe the pictures by himself and made very good suggestions. Well Done Liam!
Mrs Mackie's employee of the day was John for all his hard work during the whole day and for getting on with his business work independently. Well Done John!
Remember to keep up the good work to try and be the employee of the day tomorrow!
EMPLOYEE OF THE DAY 26th of November 2008
Today's emplyees of the day were Chloe- Bobbie and Grant because in the morning before school they took their own time to collect a bag full of pine cones for the Dazzling Direct Decorations. This shows that they are willing to work to help other businesses not just their own. Also Chloe- Bobbie today gave up her lunch hour to try and phone Tesco to arrange a visit. Well Done to them both!
Miss Stout (Student Teacher)
In my opinion, Danny did a grand job of writing a letter to Diane Nightengale in the village asking for evergreens for the eco- friendly christmas decoration. Thank you Danny! From Mrs Mackie.
